What people say
"We finally came across a project that doesn't just throw slogans into the air, but genuinely manages to take waste and find customers who can use it — for their benefit and the environment's. With great creativity and a drive to succeed, Hila found us a solution for our waste and cut our treatment costs."
"With Hila's help, a first-of-its-kind connection was made between the IDF supply center and industry. The landfill of hundreds of tons of hazardous materials was prevented, and the IDF saved — and continues to save — millions of shekels. These significant connections would not have happened without Hila's dedicated and professional support."
"Hila worked with great professionalism and creativity, in excellent cooperation and with transparency and thoroughness. Her work was a first milestone toward turning the area into an eco-industrial zone. The 4 deals that closed generated savings of millions of shekels and millions of tons of materials put to beneficial use."
"A full day of lectures on environment and sustainability with Hila was a great experience. Hila approached the subject with broad knowledge and thorough research, and delivered the content in a professional, substantive and light way that captivated the audience all day long. The average satisfaction with the speaker was 4.8 out of 5 — and participants asked for more."
"At Deshen HaTzafon we've believed in the circular economy long before we met Hila, but her guidance over this past year provided us with opportunities we wouldn't have reached on our own. Hila locates materials for us from diverse and unexpected industries, and with her help we identified several materials suitable as substitutes for virgin raw materials in our production processes. A professional, creative and results-driven collaboration."

Nice to meet you — I'm Hila Leo Shapira, an industrial-symbiosis expert, entrepreneur, consultant and sustainability speaker, with a proven track record of creating connections that turn waste streams into real economic resources.
I came to the field of symbiosis out of a genuine passion to create change on the ground.
After years of working in sustainability and corporate responsibility, I realized I wanted to be part of the change in the field and to advance the circular economy. I never imagined I'd fall in love with it so deeply — the need to connect and build trust between players, the need for creativity and the courage to propose unconventional ideas, keep fascinating and energizing me with every project that comes along.
For 3.5 years I managed an industrial-symbiosis project under a Ministry of Economy tender, mapping businesses and plants across Israel, characterizing waste streams and by-products, locating recipients and solutions, and creating connections that became ongoing, profitable collaborations.
After the national project ended I took a long maternity leave, and discovered the demand kept coming. Organizations continued to reach out for my help. That's how the next chapter was born — today I guide organizations through industrial-symbiosis and sustainability processes independently.
I'm here to help. Let's talk.
